The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Northwestern University invites applications for a tenure track, assistant professor position in experimental particle physics.  The department is seeking outstanding candidates with the potential for exceptional research and excellence in teaching. The Northwestern Department of Physics and Astronomy has a very active and broad-based research program in particle physics that includes CMS Collider Physics at the LHC and Neutrino Physics at Fermilab, and that aims to include particle astrophysics. The future of the particle physics program is not necessarily limited to these current areas of strength, and we encourage all competitive candidates with research interests that will broaden the scope of particle physics research at Northwestern to apply.

2. Prepare a list of names and email address for your external references (3 names required but you may list up to 5 names).

 

 

 

 

Within a few business days of receiving your online application, your references will be emailed iinstructions for uploading a letter of recommendation. References will be asked to use the following naming convention: YourLastName_YourFirstInitial_Recommender'sLastName.pdf (example: Smith_T_Jones.pdf). The Deadline is January 2, 2012.

3. Submit application

When your .pdf files and list of references are complete, you may proceed to the Online Application. All required fields must be filled in before you click the "Submit" button. The system will not accept incomplete applications. You will receive an email confirmation shortly after your application has been received.

Applications must be submitted by January 2, 2012 with letters of recommendation submitted by January 2, 2012.
