If It Is Dark, Can You Still See It?

Savvas M. Koushiappas

In the last 10 years, independent cosmological probes firmly established the existence of dark matter in the Universe. In the next 10 years, numerous independent experiments will be probing the nature of it. Identifying it as a particle will require understanding physics beyond the standard model, and understanding the combined experimental data. I will review the coupling between theory and experiment in this endeavor, with an emphasis on the small scale substructure in the Milky Way halo.
