The g-2 Experiment at Fermilab

The goal of the g-2 experiment at Fermilab is to measure the anomalous magnetic moment to 0.14 ppm which will be a four fold improvement over the measurement at the previous g-2 experiment at Brookhaven National Lab. The current experimental measurement of g-2 vs the theoretical prediction is off by 3 sigma which could be a sign of new physics but we just don’t know without a better measurement. This talk will cover the theoretical background of the experiment, the improvements that are planned for the experiment and the current work that is being done at Fermilab.
